Dariusz Pieńkowski has held scholarships holder from the Swedish and Lithuanian governments and was a trainee at universities in Great Britain and Germany. His research interests include sustainable development, energy consumption, determinants of socio-economic development in naturally valuable areas and the issue of distributive justice.

A graduate of spatial management at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, doctor of agricultural sciences in the field of shaping and protection of environment, employee of the Division of Integrated Water Resources Management at the Department of Land Melioration, Environmental Management and Spatial Management at the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Mechanical Engineering of the Poznań University of Life Sciences, scholarship holder and intern at the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt and national coordinator DBU scholarship program in Poland. Scientific interests: integrated water resources management in suburban areas subject to suburbanization processes (mainly in metropolitan areas), including problems of local flooding, preventing drought and planning the development of small water retention.

She conducted scientific research during internships at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in Austria, Aston Science Park – Aston University, Birmingham, UK and Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM) in Italy. Scientific interests : economic analysis of the effects of climate change and adaptation, economic instruments in managing natural disaster risk and in water management, participative management in valuable natural areas.

Research interests focus on the problems of permanent and sustainable development of rural areas.

Kazimierz Górka, Full Professor, Dr. hab., graduate of the Higher School of Economics in Kraków, in the years 1963-2015 an employee of the Kraków Academy of Economics, later the University of Economics and Economics in Kraków, head of the Department of Economics of Industry, director of the Institute of Economics of Industry, head of the Department of Industrial and Ecological Policy in 1987-2008 , co-founder and first chairman of the Board of the Polish Department at the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE), editor of the “Biblioteka Ekonomia i Środowisko” and member of the program council of the “Ekonomia i Środowisko” journal.
